FileVert is a French platform designed in an eco-conscious and environmentally responsible manner. Its goal is to enable everyone to transfer files using minimal resources while raising awareness about the impact of digital usage. To ensure that each transfer is made conscientiously, we estimate the volumes of data transmitted and assess the equivalent CO2 emissions generated during sending, storage, and reception.
The calculation tool tracks the amount of data transferred, transfer time, and the type of device used. It converts this data into electrical consumption, transforms this consumption, and estimates CO2 emissions. The goal of the counter? To provide everyone with the means to be aware of the impact of their digital habits and gradually change their usage of available technologies.
With FileVert, you can send large files while reducing the impact of your transfers. From reduced usage time to transit and storage, FileVert generates significant efficiency gains for your organization. Moreover, all your FileVerts are eco-compensated and contribute to funding projects dedicated to environmental protection and improving understanding of responsible digital issues on a global scale.
Your FileVerts will be available via a temporary link for 48 hours, compared to 3-7-15 days for FileVert members. We minimize the file storage duration on our servers to save energy.
The nationality of companies and the location of personal data hosting are major considerations to ensure their protection in compliance with the Data Protection Act and GDPR. FileVert and its servers are French, and therefore subject to French and European laws, including CNIL and GDPR regulations.
FileVert is a responsible alternative to existing data
transfer tools and aims to significantly reduce the
environmental digital footprint of data transfers and
storage.
Powered by 100% renewable energy,
FileVert's hosting uses an innovative and energy-efficient
cooling system. FileVert is designed to provide a tailored
service that adapts to the necessary resources based on
demand.
In a time where energy and digital sobriety
are necessary, FileVert accurately assesses its users' needs
to provide a resource-efficient and virtuous service that
effectively supports the performance of its FileVert pages.
FileVert contributes to carbon emissions reduction by
supporting meaningful on-the-ground actions and carbon
offsetting.
When I use FileVert:
FileVert positions itself as
a resource-efficient and environmentally responsible
solution
by offering a primary function: the transfer of data from
point A to point B while adapting resources as needed.
As such:
The FileVert team does not access the files you send if they comply with the terms of use and no abuse is reported.
FileVert is very concerned about respecting your privacy and is committed to providing the highest level of protection for your personal data, in strict compliance with the French Data Protection Act of January 6, 1978, as amended, and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of April 27, 2016.
FileVert does not use this type of service to ensure that its users have full control over their data. The servers of web giants are widely used by companies involved in file transfer and cloud computing in France. However, these information flows are subject to foreign regulations that expose European data.
You can contact FileVert using our contact form or via this email address: contact(@)filevert.fr
Once a file transfer has expired, it is automatically and permanently deleted from our servers. You cannot retrieve it.
2 GB for upload per transfer as a non-subscribed user and configurable up to 200 GB as a FileVert user.
2 days as a non-subscribed user, 3 to 15 days as a subscribed user.
You can send a folder or subfolder without any constraints. You can also create an archive (zip, rar, tar, etc.) on your
computer and upload it.Deleting ongoing transfers is a feature available for FileVert accounts and can be accessed from the "Transfers" tab in your user profile.
The Outlook add-in is a feature available for FileVert accounts that allows you to generate FileVert links directly from your email. Your temporary links will be downloadable directly in the body of your sent emails.
You don't need a FileVert account to download files, except for private transfers.
No software is required to download files. However, some files may need to be decompressed using WinZip, WinRAR, or The Unarchiver for MAC OS.
When using the "Download All" button, we automatically create a FileVert-date-xxx.zip archive. To extract it, we recommend using WinZip, WinRAR, 7zip, and The Unarchiver for MAC OS. You can also choose to download only the specific files you want by scrolling down the screen.
Unfortunately, it's not possible to resume a download in progress. We recommend redownloading your file at a later time after checking the functionality of your internet connection. You can also try downloading from a different web browser and ensure that your computer doesn't go into sleep mode.
My company doesn't allow access to FileVert links. What should I do?
We recommend contacting your IT department to whitelist FileVert and unblock access to your download links. It's possible that your company only accepts private transfers; if that's the case, you can create a multi-user account and invite your colleagues.
We recommend avoiding downloading FileVert links from unknown senders. If you have any doubts about a downloaded file, perform an antivirus scan before executing the files.
